Jayson Uppal is a Tufts University Civil Engineering graduate. Through his educational and professional experience, he has developed extensive problem solving skills necessary to tackle the renewable energy industry.
Jayson has participated in research on technology and energy policy at Tufts University. He was a member of the Tufts Green Roof Initiative, with which he presented original research to the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. at the 2006 P3-Sustainable Design Expo on the National Mall. In the summer of 2006, Jayson performed research on sustainable building materials at the Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) in Delhi, India. He traveled to Belgium in May 2007 to study the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme and the potential application of a carbon cap and trade program in the United States.
In January 2008, Jayson studied the interaction between renewable energy development and urban planning at the World Future Energy Summit in the United Arab Emirates. For his senior design project, Jayson worked on the design of an anaerobic digester for the production of methane at the Liberty Hill Farm, a small dairy farm in Rochester, Vermont.
Jayson was a founding member of Emergent Energy Group in December 2006. He has since become the Director of Project Design. Jayson has managed the development of a new optimization process for locating wind turbines through the use of existing and proprietary software packages.
