The hardest part about starting a business is dealing with different personalities. How do you make them mesh? How do you get everyone to work toward a combined/consolidated vision? How do you OWN your vision?!

The biggest thing to realize is that owning the vision is not important. Execution is important, shifting the paradigm is important – positively changing lives is the most important thing. Collaboration is absolutely key, and everyone who you collaborate with will have a slightly different vision. But, human beings are amazing creatures because of our ability to play the Telephone game – we expand upon others’ ideas, and make them better. Our species is what it is because we constructively build off of previous generations, even if it seems like we’re going backwards sometimes.

And when you are old and ready to go out of this world, all that matters to you, to yourself, is how many people you touched – not even if they knew that it was you who had that original vision.
